Three Easy Steps To 1,000s of Twitter Followers

April 16th, 2009

Here is a really “quick” method to getting 1,000s of Twitter followers within a few days.

Step 1: Create an account at Twellow

Step 2: Perform a search at Twellow on a topic that you are interested it or browse a category

Step 3: Click the “follow” button on the accounts that are returned

WARNING: Do not follow over 400 people in a day as Twitter will terminate your account for being a “bot”.

To be safe, you could spread out following people. e.g. Follow 50 or so people, wait an hour then follow more and just repeat until you reach a daily “limit” of 300-400 people.

The reason this works is because most of the people you follow, turn around and follow you.

Once you are following 2,000 people, you will need to either wait until 2,000 people are following you or remove some of the people you are following.

If you want to remove people instead of waiting, you can use Twitter Karma to see who you are following and who is following you. Which means you can unfollow the people who arent following you. You should wait a few days before you unfollow people though because not everyone lives at the PC. :)

Adding people like this will also create a snowball effect to get more people following you. Especially if you are following some of the big names in your market. Simply because people follow followers of big names.

There are two huge drawback to this method…

Drawback 1: You will receive lots of tweets from people that you honestly don’t care what they are tweeting.

To help clear up the noise, you could use a program like TweekDeck to group people into categories. e.g. Create a group for people that you actually want to read.

Drawback 2: The people following you, for the most part, don’t even read, muchless respond to your tweets. They are probably even using Tweet Deck to filter you out. :)

However, if you want to learn how to get 100s of responsive followers AND ways to use Twitter to your benefit as a marketer, you should check out Twitter for Internet Marketers.
