Reported Spam from a “Marketer”

September 14th, 2009

A certain marketer use to email me constantly. Which wasn’t a big deal because I did opt-in to his list. But then one day, I decided to click the remove link and it went to a 404. So I replied to the email and never heard anything but the emails kept coming.

After sometime, they just stoped. I thought I was finally free from the crap he was sending me. That he finally read my emails and removed me from his main database.

Sadly, today, it started again.

So I, once again, clicked the remove link to only be greated by yet another 404 page. I then shot off an email and received a reply to use his help desk to contact him. Then upon clicking the support link, I discover I have to create an account to contact him.

Well, instead of creating an account to contact him, I created a SpamCop account and reported him. I also reported him to his host.

Maybe I’ll finally be rid of this “marketer” for good.

Lesson 1. Make sure your opt-out links work.
Lesson 2. Read replies to your blasts.
Lesson 3. Make it easy for people to get help.
Lesson 4. Follow Can-Spam guidelines

Take care,
