Finding Topics for InfoProducts

I use to spend days coming up with topics to create infoproducts for but now, I find them fairly easily. Sometimes, I find topics that interest me in just a few minutes.

Here’s how.

The first thing I do is find a broad topic by using trends.

Basically, trends are what’s hot at the moment and many sites show what’s hot for them.

Some of the best sites giving trend data are:

And you can always look at retails stores best sellers. I personally use Amazon because they show you by category/department.

At this point, I may not need to go any further because sometimes the trend I choose isn’t broad. However, if the chosen trend is broad, I visit forums dealing with the topic so I can narrow it down. To find the forums I visit Google and search for the term followed by forum. e.g. dog forum

I then look at the forum categories and hot threads (ones with a lot of replies and/or views). Most the time the categories and thread titles will tell you what people are interested in/want to know.

Once I narrowed down the topic, I outsource the writing for a report dealing with the topic.

Also, for example, if you visit a pet owners website you might find threads about house breaking, how to stop a barking dog, and other obedience issues. So, you could do a report for ONE issue or write an ebook that deals with multiple issues.

Personally, I do one issue at a time and cross promote other reports and then later combine them into another ebook.
