Screw You, NameCheap!

I have been a loyal NameCheap customer for years. I have registered 100s of domains with them and referred countless people because of their pricing and control panel. Plus since I have over 100 domains they give me a discount for every domain I register or renew.

Sure there have always been cheaper solutions but the cheaper ones either have way to many upsells or a poor control panel. Some have both!

But now, after years of being a loyal customer, it’s time for me to say,

“Screw you, NameCheap! I have a new registrar.”

Don’t get me wrong. NameCheap is still a good registrar but the new one is better.

They don’t have any upsells either. In fact, all they sell is domain names. They don’t even charge for private registration after the first year unlike other registrars. Not to mention how easy their control panel is to use.

As far as pricing, their normal prices are cheaper than I am paying at NameCheap with the bulk discount! When I reach their bulk pricing, it will be even cheaper. PLUS… I can use coupons for evenĀ greater savings!

The registrar I am talking about is NameSilo.

You should check them out and use the coupon below to save a $1 on transfers and renewals.

I started to use Name Cheap to buy domains after it was recommended to me by a friend. I love how they have the free who-is guard, and how the domains are instant.
Before NameCheap I used GoDaddy, but their admin panel is no even close to being as nice.
I tried to use 1 and 1 once before, and i will NEVER use them again, I had the worst experience ever with them.

I have thus far, purchased and registered all my domains from and with Godaddy. When I first signed up, I even hosted with them. Not a pleasant experience. This is before I even knew what C-Panel was.

I will certainly keep NameSilo in mind for future reference.

The name, Name Cheap, would be a hindrance to me I’m afraid. I happily use Net Registry – their interface is simple to use and their up selling is subtle (i.e. just a tick box ‘do you want hosting’) and prices good.

I’ve never used any registrar other than GoDaddy. They may cost a little more than the ultra-low-fee registrars but occasionally I need customer service and they’ve always been able to help me swiftly.

I have been considering NameCheap, so I am glad I ran across this post. I have used Blue Razor for years, but now that I am not doing as many domains the $9.95 annual fee makes it less of a bargain. I agree with you about all the upsell nonsense from other registrars.

Thanks for the post. Not sure why more people havent left namecheap for namesilo. Better pricing, no upsells getting in the way, and amazing support. I love how open and transparent their pricing is. Namesilo might not be the answer for people wanting everything under one roof (like hosting, ssl, etc), but there is no better option for people just looking for great prices and service for their domains. Im happy to say “goodbye” to namecheap and “hello” to namesilo too!!

Probably because they haven’t heard of them yet, or they’re already happy where they are.

I have always used GoDaddy. I think it is mainly because I have managed to get great sales. Not only that for a long time I had a coupon to register domains for a penny a domain. This worked out great until it was renewal time and half of the domains I had never even had any work done on them!

Well as far as i am concerned i think google apps is the best place to register a domain name indirectly from (Godaddy & Enom) around the world , and we will also get free whois privacy protection for the life of the domian + automatic one week prior domain renewal.

Namesilo is good but google apps is better.

.com – (registration/renewal/transfer) rates at namesilo are (8.99/8.99/8.39)

.com – (registration/renewal/transfer) rates at Google Apps are (8/8/8)

Correct me if i am wrong :-) & also share with us who is the best domain registrar in the world & why.

Register new domain name from these two registrar

    a) Godaddy – Read Terms 4 Domain Restoration fee
    b) Enom – Read Terms 4 Domain Restoration fee

    2.Namesilo :- .com price $8.99/yr
Free Whois Privacy + Protection + ICANN fee is included in the price + Domain Restore – bring back a deleted domain $75

    3.Dynadot :- .com price $9.99/yr

I don’t have a top 5. Currently, I only use NameSilo and NameCheap but am transferring domains from NameCheap. If you use coupons, the NameSilo domains are the same price as Google Apps.
